Mission
Rocktown Climbing Gym is a social enterprise committed to providing a safe, pleasant and adventurous climbing environment for all. It is our mission to enhance our community as well as to effect positive social change through rock climbing and climbers in particular.
We welcome avid climbers and novices, young and old, individuals and families, religious, educational, civic and corporate groups. We offer climbing instruction, group services, event and party packages, team building activities, health and wellness programs and much more.
Through cost conscious management, “green” building and operating practices and volunteer labor, Rocktown plans to significantly improve and expand the gym creating a world-class climbing facility for our community.
Rocktown is a cooperative effort between Touchstone Youth Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and Gibson Endeavors, LLC. Touchstone Youth Project is the majority owner of Rocktown and Gibson Endeavors hold a minority interest.
The mission of Touchstone is to serve youth through adventure-based education, mentoring and life skills cultivation. Touchstone operates after-school programs and summer day camps at Rocktown. Low-income youth participate at no cost.
Your patronage of Rocktown helps to fund Touchstone. All of Touchstone’s share of Rocktown’s profits are used for charitable program expenses and facility improvement and expansion. Rocktown’s fee based services will help Touchstone achieve its goal of becoming a self-sustaining nonprofit organization.
Rocktown and Touchstone are very grateful to the volunteers who have helped us achieve our missions. You can help by volunteering to mentor Touchstone youth, assisting in gym improvement and expansion, and helping us achieve a safe and pleasant environment for all.
